of Kalamazoo, Michigan Died March 3, 2013 at the age of 68. He was born May 5, 1944 in Leighton, AL to the late Robert and Era Bradford Peebles. He was united in marriage to Danielle Johnson on September 6, 1963, who preceded him in death on February 6, 2002. He was a musician in the Kalamazoo area for over 40 years and owner of an adult foster care facility. Gurnia leaves behind his children, John Peebles of Kalamazoo and Frankie Jeffrey Peebles-Randall of Kalamazoo; 4 grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Peebles, Jeremey and Jade Munn; brothers, Milton Linda Peebles, Roger Betty Peebles and Mark Peebles; sisters, Diane Ron Stratton and Sheila Jasper Simpson; and several nieces and nephews. Gurnia is also preceded in death by brothers, James F. Carlene Peebles and James R. Kathy Peebles; and sister, Sharlotte David Ashby. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South Park. Memorials may be directed to Ducks Unlimited.
