Passed away Friday morning, June 1, 2007, after a long illness. She was born August 27, 1983 in Evanston , IL to Andrew and JoAnne Snyder Lehman and had been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Greta graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 2001 and was a member of First United Methodist Church. In high school, Greta was a member of the volleyball, soccer, and cross country teams. She was active in many other extracurricular activities including the National Young Leaders Conference and the Diversity Leadership Program. Greta was an avid and accomplished poet, artist, and writer. She loved camping, bike rides, music, taking walks with her Mom, playing ping pong with her Dad, reading, and volunteering at the KResa Young Adult Program. Greta loved singing hymns at family gatherings, cooking, working in her garden, and spending time with her three sisters ? dancing and singing in the car, sitting on the deck in Tustin, and telling stories. She cherished time with her cousins, especially their backpacking trips in Wyoming and Idaho. She was a compassionate and caring friend to many in the community and was deeply loved by her many friends, the staff and clients of InterAct, and countless others. Greta was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Paul Lehman and her cousin David Cameron. In addition to her parents, Andrew and JoAnne, Greta is survived by her sisters, Hannah, of Chicago, IL and Marta and Ellen, of Kalamazoo; her grandmother, Virginia Lehman of Dodgeville, WI; her grandparents, Don & Leta Snyder of Goshen, IN; her aunts and uncles, Glenn and Joyce Lehman Bridges of Greenville, SC, Tom Lehman and Debbie Simmons, of Golden Valley, MN, Bill and Linda Lehman of Muscoda, WI, Steve and Donna Snyder Shank of Goshen, IN, and Clare and Cathy Snyder Cameron of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; and her cousins Elizabeth Cameron, Laura Shank, Michael Shank, Daniel Cameron, Sara Shank, Thomas Cameron, Jenny Simmons-Lehman, and Ben Simmons-Lehman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to InterAct of Michigan, the Grand Teton National Park Foundation, or the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
