Gregory J. Johnson

Gregory James Johnson passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at the age of 66 with his family at bedside. He was born in Kalamazoo on April 25, 1957, to the late James and Georgianne (McCrumb) Johnson. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School before attending Kalamazoo Valley Community College while completing a welding apprenticeship. He worked as a millwright at Menasha corporation for most of his career until its closure and moved on to Graphic Packaging until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed sports, especially golf and loved the simple things in life such as his Bud Light, Copenhagen, and country music. He was incredibly proud of his family and was a loving father and a dear friend. He was a kind man with a big heart. Greg is survived by his two children, Kory (Jennifer) Johnson and Kari Johnson; grandchildren, Alexis, Koric, Blain, Kylan, Nolan, and Kaden; soon to be great-grandchild, Noa; sister, Joan (Jose). He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jeff.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, July 31, 2023, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place following at Mount Ever Rest Memorial Park North. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, in memory of Greg.
