SARVER, Grace "Marie"
Kalamazoo Passed away June 3, 2008 at her son's home in Kalamazoo. She was born March 14, 1919 in Ridgeway, IL to the late Robert and Harlie Vinson Jackson. She was united in marriage to Edgar F. Sarver in February of 1942, who preceded her in death in September of 1985. In earlier years, she was an active member of South Side Christian Church in Hammond, IN where she served as Superintendent of Sunday Schools for many years. She was also an active member of Lone Star Church of Christ, Leitchfield, KY since the late 1960's. Many lasting friendships came from both congregations. Marie's love of her family stood above all else. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grand and great grandchildren. She had a very strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and never waivered from that faith. Surviving Marie are her children, John Karman Sarver of Memphis, TN and Alan Karen Sarver of Kalamazoo; the Sarver grandchildren, Stephanie, Bryan, Rob and Eric; 5 great grandchildren; niece, Patricia Jackson. Preceding her in death were brothers, Robert, Bill and Charles Jackson; sister, Ruby Terry. A memorial service will be held at Dermitt Funeral Home, 306 W. Main St., Leitchfield, KY on June 18th at 11:00AM with a visitation 1-hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
