MEJEUR, Grace
of Kalamazoo Uko's "Amazing" Grace went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday morning, July 27, 2012. She was born January 18, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Klaas and Fannie VanDyke Boekeloo. Grace was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. On December 4, 1947, she was united in marriage to Uko H. Mejeur. Grace was a tailor at Redwood and Ross MacArthur's, Four Seasons, and employed by The Upjohn Co. She was a member of Westwood Christian Reformed Church. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Uko; their three children, Phyllis Gerry De Jong of Bradenton, FL, Roger Virginia Mejeur of Richland and Norm Gail Mejeur of Grandville, MI; seven grandchildren, Teressa Howard Drenth, Thomas Suzanne De Jong, Jennifer Jonathan Lenarz, Daryl Lisa Mejeur, Lindsy Mejeur, Curtis Sarah Mejeur and Amy Mejeur; 7 great-grandchildren; many sisters and brothers-in-law and their spouses; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Martin and Garret Boekeloo; and sister, Anne Dykehouse. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, or 1 hour prior to the funeral service at church. Funeral services for Grace will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 31st at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Road, with Pastor Bill Fernhout officiating.
