Grace DeBoer

DeBOER, Grace Kalamazoo Mrs. DeBoer passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 28, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born April 4, 1934 in Middelstum, The Netherlands, one of seven children to Gerrit and Anna Post Mulder. Growing up in the The Netherlands, Grace and her family moved to Kalamazoo in 1952. She was a longtime member of Grace Christian Reformed Church. On April 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Andrew DeBoer in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Thomas Carole DeBoer of Kalamazoo, Sharon Dave Scheffers of Kalamazoo, Diane Randall of Kalamazoo, Barbara Scott VanerMolen of Schoolcraft; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Miranda, Jessica, and Holly DeBoer, Cassandra, Heather, and Kim Scheffers, Rhiannon Daren Sage, Jeremy Alexander, and Karly and Jared VanderMolen; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Ella Sage; two brothers, Hank Sherrill Mulder of Zeeland, and John Mulder of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Henny Hathaway of Battle Creek, and Marcia Ron Yaw of Jenison; two sisters-in-law, Tryn Mulder of Hastings, and Grace Mulder of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents; and two brothers, Melvin and Art Mulder. Funeral services for Mrs. DeBoer will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Road, with Dr. Harry G. Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one?s choice.
