ARNOLD, Grace A.
of Kalamazoo Grace A. Arnold was born October 2, 1922, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Guy and Jennie Hall Becker and went home to be with her Lord on May 19, 2011 in Kalamazoo. She was a lifelong area resident who married Dr. Eugene E. Arnold on September 2, 1945. Grace was a wonderful Christian lady who was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo and VanderBilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida where they resided six months of the year. She was active in book groups, investment club, loved golf, tennis, bridge, knitting, being a member and board member of the YMCA, member of AAUW and the Kalamazoo Valley Dental Auxiliary. Grace was preceded in death by her husband Eugene on November 25, 2003 and by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Bryce and Gordon Becker. Surviving are two daughters, Karyl Gene Rev. Ashley Jerome Beavers of Ashville, NC and Karyn Grace Howard Overbeek of Sturgis, MI; grandchildren, Kevin Letcher, Julie Smith, Scott Mathes, Erin McCloskey, Kim Beavers, Ashley Beavers, Tami Overbeek and Tiffany Gazi; nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25th at First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo 321 W. South St where a Memorial Service to celebrate Grace's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday. A private family graveside service will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials in Grace's memory may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, or Alzheimer's Association.
