Goldie B. Carlton

CARLTON, Goldie B. Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday morning, December 26, 2006 at her residence. Goldie was born August 28, 1925 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Arthur and Gladys Austin Bowlby and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to flea markets and garage sales. On August 28, 1953 she was united in marriage to Joe Carlton who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother. Surviving are 6 children, Phyllis Carlton, Patricia James Martin, Smokie Carlton, Rock Vonda Deaton, Barbara Reed, Roy Sue Deaton; special family friend, Nancy Vargo; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edith Hiestand, Marie Mulder, Mable Bowlby, Beverly Carl Sweet, Floyd Mary Bowlby, Yvonne Dean Mann. There will be a gathering of family and friends Thursday evening from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Graveside services will be held 2:00 o?clock Tuesday, January 2 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock. Memorials may be directed to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services.
