April 3, 1932 to April 12, 2009 Gloria Walters, loving wife, caring mother, passionate teacher, and fun grandmother passed away on April 12, 2009. She was the youngest child of Lloyd and Martha Wedel Washburn. Gloria married the love of her life, Francis Walters on October 9, 1954. She was a 1974 graduate of Western Michigan University and served the Portage elementary school district for many years. Gloria enjoyed sharing life's many experiences through arts & crafts, geology, gardening, and golf. Gloria is survived by her husband of 54 years, Francis Walters of Portage, MI; son & daughter-in-law Brian & Linda Walters of Amherst, NH; son & daughter-in-law Bradley & Laura Walters of Portage, MI, grandchildren Laura, Ian, Kailee, Trevor, and Kylie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8:00PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 411 E. Centre Ave, where services will take place on Thursday at 2:00PM, Rev. James Dyke, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence or the charity of your choice.
