BERRY, Gloria H.
Of Kalamazoo Mrs. Berry passed away Sunday morning, February 1, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born August 1, 1921 in Royal Oak, the daughter of the late Franklin and Dean Lorentzen. A 1939 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, Gloria was avid sports fan who enjoyed tennis, bowling, golf, and baseball. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. On January 19, 1943, Gloria was united in marriage to Neil Berry in Midland, TX. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Neil Berry; 2 children, Neil "Skip" Berry of Kalamazoo, and Linda Spann of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Sarah Spann of Kalamazoo, and Elizabeth Spann of Pittsburg, PA. Preceding her in death were her parents; 4 sisters and brothers, Genevieve Lorentzen, Franklin Lorentzen Jr., Doris Krill, and Helen McLeod. Funeral services for Gloria will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
