ST. MARY, Dr. Gibson "Gib"
Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012. He was born February 17, 1919 in Caro, MI., a son of Edward and Ada Gibson St. Mary and was a resident of the Kalamazoo area. He graduated from Northern Illinois University School of Optometry and was associated with Sears Optical for 23 years. During WW II, he served his country in the Air Force as a Meteorologist. Gib was a member of the Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, loved music, played the trumpet and enjoyed traveling. On February 17, 1943, he married Marjorie Cochrane, who survives. Also surviving is their daughter, Roberta Edmondson of McMillan, MI; nieces and nephews. Gib was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Chris Edward St. Mary, in 1969; his identical twin brother, Gordon St. Mary; step-brother, Aubrey Hutchinson; step-sisters, Marion Shadley and Pauline Shonkwiler. A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, 321 W.
