RINEHART, Geraldine V.
Of Portage Geraldine Vie Rinehart was born June 28, 1919, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Clyde and Ellarae Hurlbert Schooley and passed away November 4, 2010, in Lawton, Michigan. She was a lifelong area resident who enjoyed collecting Dolls and Bears, family camping trips and special times at the family cottages at Austin and Gravel Lakes. Geraldine loved music, and was known for her playing the piano and accordion; and enjoyed dancing. Her parents were charter members of the Kalamazoo Moose Lodge where she was a life member. Geraldine and her husband loved antique cars, and were members of the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club and Kalamazoo Valley Antique Tractor, Engine & Machinery Club. In 1938, she married Raymond E. Rinehart who preceded her in death in 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents; and siblings, Donieve Schooley, Kenneth Schooley and Margaret Archdeacon. Surviving are three children, Jacqueline Don Pike of Portage, Larry Pat Rinehart of Mattawan, Debra Pete Bushhouse of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren, Donald, Linda, Sarah, Gwendolyn, Timothy Dawn, Amy Jeff, Chad, Amanda, Kimberly and five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Nicholas, Andrew, Alison; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a funeral service will be held 1:00PM Monday. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials in Geraldine's memory may be directed to Hospice Care of SW Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
