Gerald S. Smith

SMITH, Gerald Richland Mr. Smith passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 27, 2007 at Borgess Nursing Home. He was born February 3, 1933 in Kalamazoo, one of sons to Orin and Mary Hopper Smith. Jerry was employed at Eaton Corp. for 28 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Delton Moose Lodge # 1649 and Gaylord Eagles Aerie # 1825. On July 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Garnet ?June? Pratt in Kalamazoo, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Henry Sharon Nieuwenhuis of Lakeland, FL. Services will be at 9:30 AM on Saturday tomorrow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel, 3941 S. Westnedge Avenue. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday morning from 8:30 AM until the time of services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
