Gerald Leon Bray

Gerald Leon Bray, of Plainwell Michigan passed away surrounded by family on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the age of 87. Born on December 18, 1932 in Columbus, Indiana to Ebert (Dorothy) Bray. United in marriage to Mary Ann Sampley on November 2, 1991.

Survived by wife of 28 years Mary Ann, also survived by first wife Suzanne Collette Bray, Sons; Vincent E. (Theresa) Bray and Marc L. (Valerie) Bray, step children Amy and Jeff. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents; Ebert (Dorothy) Bray, son Jacques L Bray, grandson Nicholas Bray and sisters; Frances Nulph and Caroline Newland.

Gerald served in the United States Coast Guard prior to graduating from Indiana University with a Masters in Business Administration. Jerry spent 30 years in various managerial positions at the Upjohn Company. An avid sports enthusiast, Gerald was active in softball, coaching, tennis, and golf. He supported his community and friends in the greater Kalamazoo area through his work with the United Way, IU Alumni association, the Craftman's Club, and the Lake Doster Men's golf association.

A Gathering for Gerald will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Lake Doster Golf Club, 116 Country Club Blvd., Plainwell, Michigan from 1p.m. to 5 p.m. Interment will take place at Fort Custer Cemetery, at a later date. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to Wings of Hope Hospice.
