Portage, MI Died Wednesday morning December 17, 2008. Gerald was born in Oblong, Illinois, a son of Palmer and Ora Wall Perkins. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for only three months, coming here from Capac, Michigan. He was employed with the Sun Oil Company, Production Unit, for 42 years, working almost equal time in the Crossville, Illinois and Gladwin, Michigan areas before retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Geneva Baker; his second wife, Henrietta Voight; his third wife, Carol Hawk; a son, Ronald, Grayville, IL; and a brother, Earl Perkins, Oblong, IL. He is survived by 3 sons, Robert Ann Perkins, Portage, MI; Roger Rebecca, Princeton, IL; and Michael Debi Perkins, Gladwin, MI; 4 grandchildren, Todd Perkins, Portage; Robert P. Kelle Perkins, Madison Heights, MI; Lindsay Kannan Ramanathan, Hutchinson, MN; Lance Perkins, Gladwin, MI; four great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Alicia, Janie and Jazmine; a brother, Kleon Perkins, Oblong, IL; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held 11 o'clock Monday, December 22, Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926, South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date at the White Oak Cemetery, Oblong, IL.
