Age 81 Passed away February 16, 2008 at his home in Comstock. George was born June 29, 1926 in Climax, to the late Wayne and Amanda L. Smith Srackangast. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, from 1943 until honorably discharged in February of 1946. Also surviving George are his wife of 61 years, Betty Srackangast; children, Sharon Kent Kooyers of Lawton, James Srackangast of Concord, NC, Beth Earl Jackson of Covington, TN, Sue Colin Hanna of Galesburg; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Leonard Srackangast; sister, Elizabeth Verlinde; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were, son, Dennis Srackangast; grandsons, Kurt Srackangast and Corey Shields; sister, Donna and; brother, Gerald. The family will greet friends on Monday, February 18th, from 2-4:00PM and 6-8:00PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Hwy, Comstock. Funeral services will take place at the Comstock Chapel on Tuesday, the 19th at 11:00AM. Memorial donations may be sent to Comstock Community Center or to Hospice of S.W.
