George Elwin Schug

SCHUG, George Elwin
Of East Leroy Passed away Wednesday June 18, 2008 at his home. George was born May 1, 1951, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Delmar and Violet Rogers Schug and has been a lifelong East Leroy area resident. During the Vietnam War, from 1969-70 he served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a fork lift mechanic for many years and had also worked many hours as a farmer. Surviving are his children, Vicki Thomas Kime of Sault Ste Marie, MI, Cathy Eric Wing of Climax, Amy Schug Dustin Coleman of Marshall and Joshua Schug Mandy Duncan of Newark, DE; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie Robinson, Paul Schug and half brother, Kenneth Schug; several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Paula Goodson. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street. Following visitation cremation will take place and a private family committal will be held in Gilson Cemetery. Memorials in George's memory may be directed to Good Samaritan Hospice.
