GROSSER, George Robert, Jr. ?Bob? Three Rivers, MI Passed away Sunday morning, February 11, 2007, in Three Rivers, MI. Bob was born September 15, 1924, in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of George and Elizabeth Mosey Grosser, Sr. and had been a life long area resident. During WWII, Bob served in the US Army and fought in France and Germany, earning the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. Bob worked as a pressman for over 39 years, retiring from the James River Corporation in 1982. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 10314, a member of Disabled American Veterans and also served as a volunteer at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Bob was an avid fisherman, a wonderful carpenter and enjoyed his family. On April 11, 1942, Bob was united in marriage with the former Lucille Gesler, who preceded him in death on March 12, 1996. Bob was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cecilia, his parents, and 2 brothers, Gerald and D. Richard ?Bus? Grosser. Surviving are: 4 children, Georgia Robert Petersen of Kalamazoo, Linda K. VanZile of Three Rivers, Michael J. Grosser of Vicksburg and Mary E. Brian Lintz of Cassopolis; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herald Grosser of Portage; 2 sisters, Marjorie Henry Esman of Oshtemo and Phyllis Frisbie of Portage; 2 sisters-in-law, Nellie Grosser of Portage and Lorraine Grosser of Vicksburg; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 Thursday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Bill Frisbie, officiating. Interment in East Cooper Cemetery will follow services. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday and from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials should be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or to Disabled American Veterans.
