WEISER HUNTER, Genevieve
of Lawton
formerly of Portage Genevieve passed away Saturday morning August 25, 2007. She was born April 2, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John and Margaret King Helfert. For 35 years prior to her retirement she managed the Lerner Shops on the Downtown Kalamazoo Mall. She attended the Centre Ave Community Church of God, was active in the Widow and Widowers Group and the UAW. Genevieve was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman R. Hunter in 1976, by her second husband, Robert Weiser in 1983, by a grandson, David and by all of her sisters and brothers. Surviving are her children, Janice A. Moses of Lawrence and Errol B. Hunter of Portage; grandchildren, Greg, Jeff, Lori, Tom, Tim, Mark, Renee and Paul; great-grandchildren, Josh, Elly, Stephen, Maria, John, Sara and Jennifer; and by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo where Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials in Genevieve?s memory may be directed to the Lakeview Community Continuing Care Patient Activity Fund, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or the American Heart Association.
