Kalamazoo Went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Heartland Health Care in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Genevieve was born March 13, 1923 to the late Sweir and Marie Abrahms Smith. She married James D. Potts on October 11, 1944, in Kalamazoo who preceded her in death on January 28, 2007. Genevieve was a member of the North Park Reformed Church in Kalamazoo. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, golfing, sewing, knitting and singing in the church choir. She is survived by her children; Karen Donald Chickering of Belding, MI, Donald Cindy Potts of Plainwell and David Potts of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Rebecca Tom Bolich Potts of Alexandria, VA, Jeffrey Potts of Denver, CO, Jamie Derrick Ricca of Kalamazoo, Jessica Potts of Kalamazoo, Casey Shannon Potts of Plainwell and Joseph Potts of Plainwell, great grand children; Aiden and Brody Ricca, Ethan Potts and Elliot Wiltse; brothers, Clifford Phyllis Smith and Wesley Co Smith; sister, Irene Jim Benzenberg; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 10th from 2 - 4:00pm and 6 - 8:00pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo. A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, the 11th at 11:00am at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd, Kalamazoo, Reverend John Smith, officiating. A private family committal service will be held at Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
