Gary K. Boris

BORIS, Gary K.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away July 31, 2009 at home. He was born July 9, 1948 in Kalamazoo, to the late Leonard and Corrine Barr Boris. Gary was united in marriage on November 21, 1971 to the former Stephanie Chmiel, who survives. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army from May of 1968 until honorably discharged in December of 1969. Among his awards received were the Army Commendation Medal for heroism and the Vietnam Service medal. Gary loved spending time with his granddaughter, Ella. He also loved new cars, especially corvette's. He took a lot of pride grooming his beautiful "green" yard. He also enjoyed his dogs, specifically, Maggie. Also surviving Gary is his son, Craig Shawn Boris and their daughter, Ella; sister, Sherri Borris; sisters-in-law, Leona Yoder, Julie Mike Klein and Rosemary Ron Hubek; brothers-in-law, Phillip Helen Chmiel and Walt Pat Chmiel. A memorial service will take place Friday, 10:00 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where family will greet friends from 9-10:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
