Kalamazoo, Michigan Went to be with The Lord, Friday, March 14, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. Garey was born February 27, 1951 in Kalamazoo, to Carmen and JoAnne Guarisco. Garey was united in marriage to Sheila Chesworth in Grand Rapids, October 16, 1994 who survives him. Garey served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, until honorably discharged in 1972. He loved his family and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop. Garey is survived by his children, Ashley Elkins of Rochester, MN and Michael Melissa Elkins of Bellingham, WA; his mother; brothers, Dan Brenda Guarisco and Steve Guarisco; sisters, Linda Guarisco and Cathy Ed Overhiser; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, the 19th from 2 - 4:00 and 6 - 8:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 o'clock at the First Church of the Nazarene, 5625 Oakland Dr., Portage, Pastor Douglas McVay, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
