SIKKEMA, Gail E.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Gail E. Sikkema, age 74, of Kalamazoo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2009 while vacationing with her daughter, Sydney, and granddaughter, Leah, in Virginia. Gail was born May 27, 1935 in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Madelaine and Orrin Dustin and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. Gail was retired and a member and treasurer of the Ladies Library Association in Kalamazoo and enjoyed golfing, traveling, reading, her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Robert Sikkema. Her daughter, Sydney Sikkema Hagen passed away with Gail. Gail is survived by two children, Craig Sikkema of Houston, TX and Todd Pam Sikkema of Mattawan, MI; and 9 grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Gail and Sydney, will be held on Friday, July 3, at 11:00 AM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Ladies Library Association or the American Cancer Society.
