Passed away Sunday morning, April 17, 2011. Fred was born October 28, 1943 in Kalamazoo the son of Harry and Mary Green Starrett and had been a life long resident in the Kalamazoo area. Prior to his retirement he worked for several years with Charles Services Inc. Fred was an avid Detroit Tiger fan; loved animals; and enjoyed spending time in Ludington hiking in the state park. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Ann Marie Denney and Julie Fender; grandchildren, Lindsey Upton, Eric Denney, Krista Denney, Matthew Fender, Ethan Fender, Jordyn Evans; and great grandchildren, Logan and Paige Upton. A gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Private interment will be held at a later date in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Southern Care Hospice. www.langelands.com
