KLINGER, Fred ?Bear?
Kalamazoo Fred passed away Friday afternoon, October 12, 2007. He was born February 2, 1938 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Theodore and Ida Courtney Klinger. Fred was employed at DeNooyer Chevrolet Used Car lot for 1956-1974. In 1974, he purchased a bar, Freddie?s Place, which he owned and operated until 1979. In 1980, Fred went to work for The Upjohn Co., where he was employed until his retirement in 1999. Fred loved to play golf and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles ? Schoolcraft Aerie #3531. Surviving are his children, Connie Klinger of Kalamazoo, and Frederick Klinger II of Chicago, IL; one grandson, Shane Hill of Kalamazoo; one great-grandson, Aidan Hill; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fred also had many dear friends that he enjoyed spending time with. Preceding him in death are his parents; and two brothers, Theodore and Jerry Klinger. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
