MASON, Franklin D. "Frank"
of Portage Went to be with the Lord, July 8, 2010 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born November 11, 1932 in Tower, MI to the late John and Martha Latch Mason. Frank was united in marriage on June 22, 1957 to Alice Pietrzak, who survives. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being with the family, especially his grandchildren. Also surviving Frank are his children, Merlin Cherri Mason of Portage, Mark Mason of Comstock, Laurice Charles Bishop of Billings, MT, Linda Mark Christian of Galesburg and John Susan Mason of Portage; 11 grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Zachary, Sarah, Joe, Aaron, Avery, Bekah, Jena, Jacob and James; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Lloyd June Mason; sisters, Renetta Pep Ganski and Elizabeth DeRosa; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will take place Friday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo. Msgr Michael Hazard will officiate services. Committal service will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Those who wish to attend should meet in the cortege area of Ft. Custer between 1:15 and 1:30. Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Memorials may be directed to the church or a charity of one's choice.
