TENNANT, Frank
of Climax Passed away August 23, 2011 in Battle Creek at age 87. He was born October 1, 1923 in Blacksville, WV, son of John and Rose Carter Tennant. Frank was united in marriage to Arlene Machin, who preceded him in death in July of 2005. He is survived by daughters, Lucille Mark Woodward, Rose Peter Stenzel, Karla William Cizek, Mary Baird; son, Terry Marilyn Pribble; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel and Fay; brother, Harold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Frank in death were sons, Larry and Richard Gates; 4 brothers; 1 sister. Frank served in the U.S. Army and was a decorated veteran during both WWII and the Korean War. He was a POW in Korea where he lost a limb during combat. He was also a guard at Nurenburg. Frank enjoyed his garden, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed wood finishing and deer watching. He was a member of the Climax Road Commission and the American Legion. Frank stayed very independent, right up to the time of his passing. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 6-8 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple St., where services will take place on Friday at 11:00 o'clock. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Please see
