SANDERS, Frank W. Of Kalamazoo Passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2007 at his residence. Frank was born August 2, 1929 in Lake Placid, NY the son of Jasper and Grace Warren Sanders. He was a graduate of Lake Placid High School in 1946. Frank was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II being honorably discharged in 1948 as a Staff Sergeant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 36 years with Continental Linen. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; his ham radioKA8RST; and family trips to New York. On July 24, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Jacqueline Stozicki who preceded him in death on March 1, 1997. He was also preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Nichelle Gornick. Surviving are 4 children, Carl Sanders, Joan Nelson Hiestand, Sharon Ray Fulkerson, Janet Pete Minich; 9 grandchildren, Robert, Jason, Andy, Erica, Joe, Barbara, Emily, Keith, and Rebecca; a great-grandson, William; a brother Herb Esther Sanders; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving companion, Sherry Swope. Services will be held 2:00 o?clock Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St. with Fr. Mike Howell, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Memorials may be directed to the Nichelle Gornick Scholarship Fund c/o Parchment High School or Hospice Services of Southwest Michigan.
