DROBNY, Frank L.
Of Galesburg, MI Passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Laurels of Bedford, Battle Creek. He was born July 28, 1923 to Louis and Lucy Radwan Drobny. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and earning a Purple Heart. On October 23, 1943, he married Dorothy "Shirlene" Watkins in Kalamazoo, who preceded him in death on January 1, 2007. Frank owned a trucking business for many years and also worked for H. J. Deaton for 20 years until his retirement in 1988. Surviving are 5 children, Frank Jr. Nancy Drobny of South Bend, IN, Dorothy Wood, and her daughter Christine Wood, his long time caregiver, of Augusta, Marlene Drobny of Kalamazoo, Fred Kathy Drobny of Galesburg, and Louis Drobny of Galesburg, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Frank will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday tomorrow at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek Street, with Pastor Don Ibbotson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Friday tonight at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg.
