Mattawan Frank passed away evening, January 4, 2007 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born October 3, 1957 in Benton Harbor, the son of Lloyd and Shima Furukawa Denton. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army serving three years from 1976-1979. He was employed by Target Corp. for the past 5 years. He attended Berean Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and golfing. On May 5, 2007, he was united in marriage to Laura Fritsch Bettig, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Shima Paul Bettig of Benton Harbor; three brothers and sisters, Clyde Sandy Denton of Pittsburg, PA, Kitty Bob Burger of Savannah, GA, and Mike Denton of St. Joseph; four step-children, Robert Bettig of Grand Rapids, Stephanie Bettig of Chicago, Matthew Bettig of Grand Rapids, and Rebecca Bettig of Mattawan; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Frank will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Berean Baptist Church, 7813 S. 12th Street, with Rev. Michael Eleveld officiating. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to Berean Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street.
