WESAW, Mr. Francis G. "Gordon"
Kalamazoo, Michigan Died Sunday evening February 12, 2012 in Allegan, MI. Francis was born August 4, 1925 in Decatur, Michigan a son of James and Edith Johnson Wesaw. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Precision Heat Treating for 20 years, retiring in 1978. Francis was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Wesaw in 1992; and 3 brothers, Jim, Harry, and Clarence Wesaw. On August 28, 1943, he was united in marriage to Beatrice E. "Bea" Brundish Wesaw who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Dorene Wesaw of Kalamazoo, Ronald Audrey Wesaw of Decatur, MI, and Debra Wesaw of Plainwell; 4 grandchildren, Ronald Diane Wesaw, Jr., Jeffrey Pam Wesaw, Cody Hulbert, and Lisa Davis; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Tuesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family 6-8pm Monday at the chapel. Private burial will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Heart Fund.
