formerly of Patchogue, New York Frances A. Keto died January 23, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born July 11, 1928 in Patchogue, Long Island, NY to the late Carmelo and Rosaria Barone Barone. She was married to Edward Keto on April 19, 1958. Frances graduated with a B.S. from Ladycliff College in New York. Prior to her marriage she managed her father's liquor store in Poughkeepsie NY. Fran was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and enjoyed shopping. One of her greatest pleasures was relaxing on the beaches of Long Island, where she spent many happy summer days with close friends and family. Many will remember her as a charming hostess, an accomplished cook of traditional Italian foods and an attentive and loving mother. She worked as a homemaker for most of her life. She was independent, practical and willing to stand up for what she believed. Frances was never shy about engaging others in discussion. Her friendly humor and ease with conversation endeared her to many, including strangers. Frances lived in the New York area all her life, until she moved to Kalamazoo in August of 2001, to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. Frances leaves behind her husband Edward Keto; children, Daniel Cara Keto and Stephan, Carol Keto; 2 grandchildren Graham and Doug; sister, Jean Hugo Musto, sister-in-law, Josephine, many nieces and nephews and their families. Preceding her in death was her brother Frank Barone. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4, at the Langeland Family Funeral homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 Kings Hwy on Saturday, January 26th a rosary will begin at 3:30. A funeral mass will take place Monday January 28th 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 939 Charlotte Ave., Kalamazoo. Burial will be 1 p.m. at Fort Custer Military Cemetery; Augusta, MI.
