Portage, Michigan Went to be with her Lord and Savior from Bronson Hospital on July 13, 2008. Flossie was born February 18, 1915 in Pullman, MI, the daughter of Andrew and Cora Howey Bostater and had lived in the Kalamazoo/Portage area for most of her life. Flossie was employed as a teller at Home Savings Bank and later for 22 years at American National Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Reformed Church. Flossie was a golfer and a bowler and enjoyed Major League Baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs. She was a volunteer worker at Borgess Hospital and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Chauncey A. Scarlett in 2000 and by a grandson Larry Cramer in 2007. Surviving are 2 daughters and their spouses, Marie and Leonard Cramer and Joan and Donald Stamm, all of Portage; 5 grandchildren, Caryn Randy Locker of South Haven, Julie Cramer of Kalamazoo, Wendy Ron VandenBos of Kalamazoo, Charles Tami Stamm of Mattawan and Stacey Brent Weessies of Portage; 9 great-grandchildren, Adam Leah Locker, Aimee Locker, Allyse Locker, Laura and Steven VandenBos, Brianna Steve Ferris, Kyle Stamm, Megan and Morgan Weessies; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. 343-1508 Private interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Portage Chapel. Memorial contributions in Flossie's memory may be made to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan or Faith Reformed Church.
