Of Portage, MI FloRose Hutchinson Thomas went to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at her daughter's home. She was a member of the 12th Street Baptist Church and loved her God and church. FloRose was born in Ridgefield, Indiana and was the daughter of Clarence and Carol McNamara Hutchinson. Retired from the Upjohn Company after 32 years of service she moved to Florida for 23 years prior to returning to Kalamazoo and her family in 2005. FloRose was an avid bowler for 30 years in Kalamazoo and golfer in Florida. She enjoyed life and others to the fullest; especially her family. She was a devoted, loving mother. FloRose was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John MacNamara; sister, Gloria Blaisdell and a grandson, Brian Sherfield. She leaves her husband, Robert; two daughters, Andrea Art Kidney, Penni Don Richards, two stepdaughters, Roberta Bob Narlock, Wendy Tommy Wright; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Aleta Hutchinson; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17, from 1-5 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A service to celebrate FloRose's life will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the 12th Street Baptist Church 3911 South 12th St with Pastor Randy Burnett officiating. Interment will be held in Plainwell Hillside Cemetery. She has requested in lieu of flowers donations to the 12th Street Baptist Church and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
