Florence "Flossie" Glidden

Florence “Flossie” Glidden, age 93 of Kalamazoo, died on November 15, 2023. She was born on April 6, 1930, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Roy & Fern Garrison. In 1948, she graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School.

On March 19, 1949, she married Robert Glidden. Flossie worked for Upjohn Company and Sears & Roebucks, but her greatest support was working alongside her husband on the farm. They were members of Texas Corners Bible Church. Flossie had been a proud member of the Sweet Adeline singing group. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and square dancing with Robert.

Her family includes her husband of 74 years, Robert Glidden; her children: Janice Glidden and Ronald Glidden; her sister Royal Ranger; her dear friends and neighbors, Jack & Madelyn Goodrich; her dear friends Wayne & Lisa Augustyniak; dear friends Jim & Angela Wessing; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lois Stermer, and her brother-in-law Gene Ranger.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 S. 8th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
