Formerly of Galesburg Passed away December 27, 2007 at the Life Care Center of Plainwell. Florence was born May 20, 1914 in Dorr, MI, the daughter of Aaron and Minnie Alders DeRyke and was a long time resident of Galesburg. She was formerly employed at Burgess Seed and Plant in Galesburg. Florence was Past Worthy Matron and a life member of the Royal Maple Leaf Chapter of the O.E.S. She was the oldest living member of the Galesburg Bunco Club. Florence was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2000 and by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are a daughter Connie Edgar Penny of Richland and a son Robert Nancy Anderson of Portage; 6 grandchildren, Lisa Craig Lindley of Vicksburg, Kristi John VandeWoestyne of Portage, Karen Dave Berlien of Delton, Doug Penny of Indianapolis, Jo Don Markwart of Plainwell and Jim Tami Penny of Portage; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and a brother August DeRyke. Services will be held at 1:00 o?clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. with the Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Comstock Township. Friends may meet the family beginning at 12 Noon on Saturday at the Galesburg Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in Florence?s memory may be made to the Galesburg/Charleston Fire Department Rescue Squad or Wings of Hope Hospice. www.langelands.com 343-1508
