Of Portage, MI Fern passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 3, 2009 at Tendercare of Portage. She was born November 20, 1913 in Van Buren County, MI, the daughter of Claude and Lettie Glessner Johnson. She and her husband Frank were the owners and operators of Molnar's Restaurant in Schoolcraft for 13 years. Surviving are their 4 children, David Carol Molnar of Palmetto, FL, James Carrie Molnar of Bradenton, FL, Pat Fred Sackett of Kalamazoo and Thomas Molnar of Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Mary Glaizer; and sister-in-law, Beth Molnar. Preceding her in death were husband of 43 years, Frank; her parents; 5 brothers and 1 sister. Memorial services for Fern will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
