SOSINSKI, Evelyn L.
of Portage, Michigan Passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Portage. Evelyn was born July 12, 1916 in Milford, IN, the daughter of the late Clyde and Armanda Wilson Brouse and was a resident of the Kalamazoo area for many years. She loved Saturday night dances at the Burr Oak Dance Hall with her friends and it was here that she met her future husband, Joseph. She also liked to read and do needlework, but her main love was her home and family. On April 30, 1934, she married Joseph S. Sosinski, who preceded her in death on November 12, 1991. She was also preceded by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Norma Sosinski; two sons-in-law, Merrill Provost and Larry Gruizenga; a grandson, Mark McCarty; a sister & brother-in-law, Eunice & Gordon Jones; and a brother, Warren Brouse. Evelyn is survived by her children, Alice Robert McCarty of Comstock, Donald Marcia Sosinski of Battle Creek, Connie Provost of Galesburg and Carol Gruizenga of Portage; 14 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12 at 12:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Pastor James Dyke officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, beginning at 11:00 AM until service time. Interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Memorials may be made to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society or the charity of one's choice.
