Evelyn Soderquist

SODERQUIST, Evelyn Of Portage Passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Alamo Nursing Home. Evelyn was born April 21, 1934, in Boon, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Platz Yonkovitz and has been a Portage area resident since 1960. Through out the years she enjoyed traveling, shopping and was well known for making excellent cakes and candies. The most important part of her life was spending time with her family and wonderful friends. Proceeding Evelyn in death were her parents; all of her siblings and her son, Wayne Soderquist in 2009. Surviving are her children, Deborah Rick Shannon of Schoolcraft, David Laura Soderquist of Galesburg and Richard Julie Soderquist of South Haven; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In accordance with Evelyn's wishes cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held 3:00pm Friday September 11 at the Boon West Side Cemetery, Boon Road, Boon, MI 49618. Following services a time of food and fellowship will be held at 4pm at Boon Baptist Church, 1221 Boon Road, 231 775-7775, flowers may be sent to the church.
