of Kalamazoo, MI Died Wednesday afternoon November 16, 2011 at her residence. Evelyn was born February 6, 1936 in Portageville, Missouri a daughter of Sherman and Audrey Savage Hedges. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed with Borgess Hospital for over 20 years before retiring. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Rachel Johnson. She is survived by 4 children, Pete Ross, and Dorothy ?Dottie? Arthur VanDusen, Jay Johnson, Timothy Johnson, and Mike Johnson all of Kalamazoo; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her companion, Linda Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 3 o?clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private interment will be in Pemiscot Memorial Gardens, Caruthersville, Missouri at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
