formerly of Kalamazoo Evelyn went home to her Lord on Monday December 31, 2012. She was born October 6, 1936 in Chicago, IL and moved to Kalamazoo with her family at a young age. She was the loving wife of Paul for 54 years, who survives along with their daughter, Patricia Eric Vesterby of Pueblo West, CO and son, Daniel Jill Dean of Cokato, MN. Also surviving are granddaughter, Amber Vesterby, grandson, Nathaniel Dean, brother, Henry Roy Marilyn Valkema and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her father Henry, mother Anna and brother Albert. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed bird watching, tulips, African violets and flowers of all kinds, shopping with family or friends and sending compassionate cards of love. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who received her cards of encouragement. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A funeral service for Evelyn will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Henry DeVries officiating. Private interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
