HICKS, Eula B.
of Scotts, Michigan HICKS, Eula B., age 99, of Scotts, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at home with her family at her side. She was born on September 26, 1913, in Izard County, Arkansas, the daughter of Willard Henry and Elizabeth Isabell Staggs Ball. On January 11, 1930, she married Leonard D. Johnson until his passing on July 12, 1953. On May 29, 1959, she married Ershel J. Hicks until his passing on August 5, 1967. Eula was employed by the Battle Creek Public Schools for 10 years until her retirement. Surviving are two children, Clifton Dale Johnson of Mountain House, CA and Sylvia Ron Pease of Scotts; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Johnny Dees of Arkansas and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; three sons, Gayle Millie Johnson, Narland Joyce Johnson and James Johnson; daughter-in-law, LaDonna Johnson; grandson, Jerry Johnson; three brothers, Kirby, Troy and Clifford Ball; brother-in-law, Ray Dees; and two nieces. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 8th, 2:00 o'clock at Floral Lawn Cemetery, Battle Creek. Visitation is Sunday, July 7th from 3-5pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
