BRINK, Eugene W. "Gene"
Of Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away Tuesday August 11, 2009 at his home after a brief illness. Gene was born December 24, 1927, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of Hildbrand and Inez Pratt Brink. He attended Kalamazoo Central High School. Gene enjoyed bowling, golf and going to the casino. He was co-owner of Knollwood Tavern for many years; then worked at the Kalamazoo Gazette until retirement. The Brinks have been active members of St. Joseph Church for more than 47 years. Gene was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by Jean, his wife of 62 years; two sons, Robert Brink Deb Whiteman, Kenneth Jeanne Brink; five grand-children, Justin David Brink, Bethany Aaron Caccamo, Jon Lindsay Brink, Jeffrey Kristen Brink and Katie Brink; one great grandson, Brady David Brink; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David, three sisters and four brothers. Friends may meet the family Thursday evening from 5-7pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Mass and Christian burial will be held 11:00 o'clock Friday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St, with Msgr. Michael D. Hazard, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt.
