Crill, Mrs. Ethel M.
Portage Passed away on October 4, 2013 at her home, with her family at her side. Age 94. Ethel was born on June 8, 1919 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of the late Arthur and Meda Calhoun Burke. She retired from Westab. She enjoyed feeding & watching the neighborhood birds and squirrels, knitting and crocheting afghans. Ethel was one of eight children, who lived to be the oldest. She had two sisters, who lived to be in their 90's! Ethel married Robert Crill on June 19, 1937; he preceded her in death on January 4, 1997. She is survived by their two sons, Bill Nan Crill and Jim Diane Crill; five grandchildren, Scott, Kelly, Mike, Tim and Melissa; seven great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings and one granddaughter, Robin. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Pastor Steve Nichols will officiate. Private family interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the SPCA. of Kalamazoo.
