MOLENAAR, Esther Irene Louis
of Kalamazoo, MI A lifetime resident of Kalamazoo passed away at Rose Arbor Hospice Thursday, November 26th at the age of 96. Esther was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan September 3, 1913 to the late Issac Louis and Sarah Herman Louis. Who came to America from the province of Zeeland, Netherlands. She was a member of Fourth Reformed Church and Third Reformed Church. On June 1, 1933 she was united in marriage to Cornelius "Casey" Molenaar, they were married for 58 years. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1992. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Peter Jacob, October 23, 1957; Jacob Peter, January 3, 1954; Henry Issac, September 21, 1959; Issac, October 10, 1905; John, December 18, 1986; Mitchell, October 11, 1965; Benjamin, September 20, 1909 and two sisters, Jeenie Maria Linders, June 10, 1953; and Mary Suzanna Linders, November 28, 1979. Also son-in-law Bert Blodgett, November 21, 1991 and daughter-in-law Esther Ann Molenaar, March 25, 2009, great-grandson Oliver K. Molenaar, June 19, 1993 and great-granddaughter, Breanne Blodgett, 2001. Esther and Casey have three children Harold E., Holland, Roger L. Judy, Battle Creek, Barbara A. Blodgett and friend Steve Way, Climax. Nine grandchildren, Daniel S. Susan Molenaar, William M. Astrida Molenaar, Kimberly K. Donald Gjeltema, Scott A. Molenaar, Bret Blodgett, Dryinda Price, Bree VanDis, Joan Terry, Brad Blodgett. Eleven great-grandchildren, Derek S. Molenaar, Ellen M. Molenaar, Courtney L. Gjeltema, Tyler J. Gjeltema, Aleksandrs D. Molenaar, Erik C. Molenaar, Glenn, Chelsey, Ryan, Ashley and Craig. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Betty Molenaar and Edith Cushman, special nieces, Marian Louis and Ruth VanDeiessen, who were faithful visitors. Also many other niece's and nephews survive. Esther lived for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many years supporting family in baseball and basketball. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is home and at peace with the Lord. A Graveside service will take place in the Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery Chapel, Tuesday at 11:30 A.M., where family will greet friends from 11:00 - 11:30, prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oliver Molenaar Scholarship, Central College, Campus Box 5200, 812 University, Pella, IA 50219; or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 222 N.
