Esther J. DeWeerd

DE WEERD, Esther J. Kalamazoo Went to be with her Lord on January 28, 2007 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. Esther was born on July 29, 1902 in Holland, MI, the daughter of Henry and Martha Tjietjema DeWeerd and was the oldest of seven children. She was preceded by 4 brothers, Sydney, Harold, Willis and Irvin DeWeerd and by a sister Maryann Michmerhuizen. Surviving are one brother, Merle DeWeerd of Kalamazoo and 8 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. After graduation from Hope College, Esther went to India as a missionary for the Dutch Reformed Church. While in Kalamazoo, Esther was an active member of Bethany Reformed Church and many local organizations. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 o?clock Saturday, February 3 at Bethany Reformed Church , 1833 S. Burdick St. with the Rev. Dr. Robert Terwilliger officiating.
