ROBBINS, Estelle S.
Portage Estelle passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1920 in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of Paul and Pauline Malec Szwast. On May 18, 1946, Estelle was united in marriage to Clayton W. Robbins in Kalamazoo. She was employed by The Upjohn Co. for over 15 years until her retirement. Surviving are two children, William Beth Robbins of Kalamazoo and Carolyn Heineman of Kalamazoo; two grandchildren, Brett Robbins and Matthew Emily Robbins; three great-grandchildren, Aidan Robbins, Brody Robbins and Alex Loomis and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband of 57 years, Clayton Robbins; her parents; one brother, John Szwast and two sisters, Josephine Klim and Sophia Kuleszczyk. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, at St. Monica Catholic Church, 534 W. Kilgore Road, with Father Larry Farrell celebrant. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
