Ernesto Saenz DeLeon

Ernesto Saenz DeLeon of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on March 23, 2024, at the age of 89. Ernesto was born in Weslaco, Texas, on January 3, 1935, to the late Emelio and Guadalupe Saenz DeLeon. In 1957, he married Rebecca Reyes. The two were married for 61 years when Rebecca passed away in 2018.

Ernesto was a hard worker and provider for his family. As a machinist, he worked for Clausing Corporation, finally retiring after 36 years.

Ernesto was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed going to Hispanic dances with wife. Above all else, Ernesto loved his family.

Ernesto is survived by his children, Ernest DeLeon Jr., Guadalupe (Brian) Little, Robert (Mae) DeLeon, Mary Norma (Sam) Rincones, David (Vicki) DeLeon, John Gonzales, Joe (Peggy) Gonzales; grandchildren, Kevin, Julia. Robert Jr., Ramon, Holly, Anna, Christina, Monica, William, Tony, Becky, Joe, Juanita, Angelina, Cassie, Stacy, and Juan, Jr.; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Ernesto was preceded in death by his beloved wife and his parents.
