Emmett C. Craft

CRAFT, Mr. Emmett C. Portage, MI Died Monday morning January 22, 2007. Emmett was born May 29, 1940 in Covington, Virgina a son of Emmet A. and Ruth Beard Craft. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident for 40 years and was employed with the Peter Eckrich Company for 31 years before retiring. He was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Pamela Sue Craft on December 9, 1998. On November 10, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sharon I. Gettys Craft who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Renee Bruce Sare of Kalamazoo, and Emmett and Brian Craft both of Portage; 2 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Delores Melvin Minshall of Kalamazoo; his step father, Kenneth Doorn of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o?clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Kidney Foundation or the West Michigan Cancer Center.
