TILLER, Emma E. Kalamazoo Passed away, Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born September 14, 1920, to the late Robert M. and Cassie Hughes Tiller, in Bloomfield, Missouri. Emma, one of 12 children, is survived by one brother, Wayne Irene Tiller of Oshtemo. She moved to Michigan in 1938. Emma served in the military during WWII, from 1943 at the Port of Deportation in New York, NY, until honorably discharged in 1946. After her military service, she was employed at Upjohn for 38 years. After retiring, Emma spent her winters in Florida and lived with Wayne and Irene Tiller in the summers. Emma loved gardening and the out-of-doors. She and a good friend, Lois Smith would travel to Crystal Camp in the fall. In Florida, she had good friends, Isabelle Collins and Joan DeVasler. Emma never married and her brothers and sister and their families were very important to her. Emma was a lifelong member of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Visitation will take place at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 on Thursday, May 3, 2007, from 4-8:00PM. A Memorial Service will take place at Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 2208 Winchell Ave., Kalamazoo, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11:00AM, Rev. Michael VandenBerg, officiating.
